Pay It Forward

Read Geri's Story
During our annual State Bank & Trust Christmas Party, Chief Operating Officer Michael Solberg announced a bankwide effort, modeled after Oprah Winfrey's "pay it forward" campaign. My employer has given all their full time employees $1000.00 and part time employees $500.00 to be used as a donation to our favorite charity. This is an effort to give back to the communities we serve which is part of our mission statement. There was never a doubt in my mind that I would give mine to the Ronald McDonald House by presenting my check to "The Ride". My sister and her husband, Charlie and Chris Gnahn rode in the very first ride and Dwight and I joined them the second year. This organization has always made us feel that we were a huge part of what they have been able to accomplish. We have always been so proud of how this project has grown and the monies they have been able to raise for such a wonderful charity. I would like to put out a challenge to all who visit this website. I would never have been able to make a huge donation like this if it would not have been for my employer, State Bank & Trust. Please, go to your employers and tell them this story. There is no reason that they couldn't donate in your name $25.00, $50.00, or $100.00 or more. I know alot of riders out there who are probably their best employees. Also, how about your bank. They can afford it. They can give to you just as my bank gave to all of their 500 employees. Let's make this the best ride ever by going out there and giving a little shove to those we know can help. As I understand, this began with one small voice. Look what this organization has accomplished. This is my one small voice. Please join me.
